Weekend of Family Fun

What a fun weekend we had! Emery and Sharon came to pick me up from the airport on Thursday and we met Kelly at home after work. We then headed to a wonderful dinner with my parents, Vicky and Barry. Mom made chicken cheese enchiladas! They were really good. She spent the day before making homemade cream of chicken soup since all store bought versions have msg, which I can’t have. What work she went to just for the baby and me! She made homemade Spanish rice too. It was all wonderful. It was so special to be able to spend time hanging out with both sets of parents together! It’s not very often we get to do that!

Friday, we had a few errands to run. We set out to the fabric store which was having a 20% off sale on all their fabrics. Of course I don’t know what we’re having yet, boy or girl so I just bought the fabric I had picked that was most expensive and needed only a yard. It was for the girl bedding my Grandma and I are going to make. I also found trim that was only 3.45 a yard! What a bargain at normally 12 dollars a yard. Of course it can only be used on a girl so… I’ll just keep it for the next if we get a boy! A week ago I found several of my boy fabrics on clearance so I bought those too. The colors are the same as mom’s lake house so I figured we could make some pillows with it for her lake house if nothing else!! Kelly is rooting for a boy only so he doesn’t have to repaint the room! He really hates painting, but honestly doesn’t care which we have as long as it’s healthy. Everyone headed to the mall to look for valentine pjs for the kids and a swimsuit for Sharon to take to Hawaii! We’re jealous of their trip, but really happy for them. They deserve the relaxation! Kelly said he’d like a second honeymoon, I told him plan it and I’ll be there!! Friday night, I made BBQ meatballs and rolls at the house for supper and we had a nice meal together. Kelly and Emery then worked on the laundry sink cabinet that Garry built us. It was quite a project installing the counter top and redoing the plumbing for a new drain location! They worked on it until 9pm when Ashlea and Bill came to visit from Wichita Falls. We stayed up way too late talking and laughing together.

Saturday, us girls got up bright and early to head to the Affair of the Heart! Of course we had to make a sonic stop before heading out but once Sharon’s tea and my milk were in hand we were ready to shop! We met up with my friends Jenni and Cayce and Jenni’s mom and aunt for a little team shopping! Since Sharon had to leave by noon we shopped ahead of everyone and made it through all but 1 of the buildings by the time she had to go! While we were there she bought me my first diaper bag! It’s perfect. I love it. I’ll have to take a photo and post it. I also got a few décor items for the room and will take pictures and post them as well. Then Kelly and I spent Sunday working the first paper in the series of 3 that were due Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. It was a really great weekend spent with family and friends. We are so thankful to have so many special people in our lives!

Thursday is our next doctor appointment so I’ll have another update for you after that! And I should have the date for the next ultrasound where we find out what we’re having!!!! We can’t wait to be able to call the baby a name instead of “It or Baby”!!
